Anthony Jamison


Mr. Anthony has been teaching Break Dancing (Breakin'!), Hip Hop & Boys Dance at The Dance Step for the past year. He is a self taught hip hop/break dancer from Cleveland, Ohio, whose talents have allowed him to choreograph for music videos as well as perform in movies such as: The Divergent Series, Hunger Games, Bye Bye Man and The Walking Dead. Although Anthony is self taught, he has been trained in jazz, ballet, modern and also contemporary. He has also had the privilege to work with choreographers such as Andrew Baterina (sorrel cru), Les Twins, Anthony Lee and Ian Eastwood. Anthony loves to share his passion for dance and change the world one student at a time.

Michelle serra

 

Michelle Serra is the proud owner/director of The Dance Step located in Parma, Ohio. Miss Michelle has been dancing since the young age of 3 and her desire to dance has never stopped. Her very first teacher (a former New York City Rockette) Irene Seymore, recognized Michelle's talent and encouraged her to enter beauty pageants. Miss Michelle won every talent portion she entered. She is accomplished in a variety of styles including acrobatics, ballet, gymnastics, jazz, lyrical and tap. As a student, Miss Michelle studied under numerous award-winning teachers and her passion is evident in her business approach and the personal connection she makes with her students and parents.

As the owner of The Dance Step, Miss Michelle focuses on the students and encourages fun in a structured environment. With a quick tour of the studio; you'll notice the trophies reflect her philosophy and the students' success. When Miss Michelle isn't directing/teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband in their new home in Medina.

Monica mihalus


Miss Monica has been teaching Tap, Tiny Tots, and Dance and Tumble at The Dance Step for just under a year. She has been apart of The Dance Step family since she was two years old and has taken classes such as ballet, acro, jazz, hip hop, and her favorite of course, tap. Tap has always been very special to her and has always been more than just a hobby. She was always excited to be with her dance friends, and to share how their days went. It is an honor to be back and working together to teach our students each type of dance to express themselves. Miss Monica attends college at Cleveland State University majoring in a BS in Health Sciences and Masters in Occupational Therapy. She also works at Pleasantview Care Center as receptionist and a dietary aide but is moving forward to working as a Pharmacy tech at CVS. She looks forward to continue watching and guiding the girls and boys grow and become such talented young men and ladies!

Brittany Feda


Miss Brittany has over 20 years of dance experience and trained at The Dance Step since she was four-years-old. Miss Brittany has trained in ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, acro, tap, and hip-hop over the years but has found her home teaching hip-hop. During her tenure as a student at The Dance Step, Miss Brittany was a part of the TDS competition team and has earned many awards for solo and duet performances. She continued her dance training all the way through college before returning to her roots as an instructor and choreographer at The Dance Step.


Miss Brittany uses her passion for dance and her commitment to creating a fun, disciplined, environment for her students to learn the art of dance. Outside of dance, Miss Brittany pursues her professional career in Marketing as the current Manager, Content & Community Strategies at ERC. She attended Ohio University and graduated with a BA in Communications and a BS in Psychology. ​Outside of dance, Miss Brittany pursues her professional career in Marketing as the current Manager, Content & Community Strategies at ERC. She attended Ohio University and graduated with a BA in Communications and a BS in Psychology.


​In addition to Miss Brittany’s love of dance, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to Tribe games, and snuggling with her dog and pretty much any dog that will give her the time of day.

Kimberly red 


Kimberly Red is a Co-director/ Dance Educator with The Dance Step. She has been with the studio since 2003 but has been an avid dancer her entire life. Starting at the young age of 3, she studied under the prestigious Rockette, Betine Winch, where she mastered ballet, jazz and tap. Combining her love of dance with tumbling she also competed in gymnastics quickly becoming a top rated gymnast in the state of Ohio.


During her time as a student , Kimberly has performed in numerous recitals and shows throughout her career later becoming an award winning choreographer. Her students have placed first overall in countless dance competitions with opportunities to compete on a national level.  She continues to stay current on dance trends by participating in dance classes and workshops. She was recently certified in acrobatics through the Acrobatic Arts program which is run by Cirque Du Soleil. She is an accomplished artist and has a Bachelors Degree in Art from The University of Akron.


In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her husband, her two dancing daughters, Annabella and Meredith, and her Beagle Lilly.

alex platt


Miss Alex has 20 years of dance experience which includes ballet, pointe,contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, Ukrainian dance, and dance/ cheer teams. She began dancing at the age of three at Angela’s dance studio, but decided to focus on ballet at the age of 9. Alex began her ballet training (in Voganova styling) under Joanne Hughes Morscher at the Royal School of Ballet (now Great Lakes Youth Ballet). She also studied Ukrainian dance at the Kashtan School of Dance under David Wozniak and Markian Komichak, and became an ensemble member shortly thereafter. Alex concluded her formal ballet and pointe training at Cleveland Dance Academy under Christine Galleti and Paula Devereaux.

Throughout her performance career, Alex has held several lead roles and won several high awards in various dance competitions and showcases. Alex began her collegiate dance career, but decided to pursue degrees in biomechanics/ exercise physiology and dietetics at the University of Cincinnati. During her college career, Alex taught ballet, contemporary ballet, and hip-hop, as well as obtained Zumba certification. Alex has both attended and conducted numerous master classes, intensives, camps, and workshops to keep up-to-date with the current dance world, and was able to study chorographical technique and style.

As a choreographer, Alex has earned awards and been featured for original choreography in classical and contemporary ballet. Currently, Alex is working on obtaining her doctorate degree and working as a clinical researcher by day, and as the ballet/ pointe/ contemporary teacher by night. Alex is absolutely thrilled to be a staff member at The Dance Step, and is excited to be a part of this amazing dance family!
