Michelle serra
Michelle Serra is the proud owner/director of The Dance Step located in Parma, Ohio. Miss Michelle has been dancing since the young age of 3 and her desire to dance has never stopped. Her very first teacher (a former New York City Rockette) Irene Seymore, recognized Michelle's talent and encouraged her to enter beauty pageants. Miss Michelle won every talent portion she entered. She is accomplished in a variety of styles including acrobatics, ballet, gymnastics, jazz, lyrical and tap. As a student, Miss Michelle studied under numerous award-winning teachers and her passion is evident in her business approach and the personal connection she makes with her students and parents.
As the owner of The Dance Step, Miss Michelle focuses on the students and encourages fun in a structured environment. With a quick tour of the studio; you'll notice the trophies reflect her philosophy and the students' success. When Miss Michelle isn't directing/teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband in their new home in Medina.
Monica mihalus
Miss Monica has been teaching Tap, Tiny Tots, and Dance and Tumble at The Dance Step for a few years. She has been apart of The Dance Step family since she was two years old and has taken classes such as ballet, acro, jazz, hip hop, and her favorite of course, tap. Tap has always been very special to her and has always been more than just a hobby. She was always excited to be with her dance friends, and to share how their days went. It is an honor to be back and working together to teach our students each type of dance to express themselves. Miss Monica attends college at Cleveland State University majoring in a BS in Health Sciences and Masters in Occupational Therapy. She also works at Pleasantview Care Center as receptionist and a dietary aide but is moving forward to working as a Pharmacy tech at CVS. She looks forward to continue watching and guiding the girls and boys grow and become such talented young men and ladies!
